Factory Rejects

Some Fillys don't quite make the quality control sometimes.

And today i want to take a look at these rejects! So, what is a factory reject? It is a toy or product that does not pass various standards. That some Fillys occasionally have a factory defect is not unheard of, as minor imperfections are tolerated. Bleeding colors on different colored parts of the figurine for example are pretty standard. Nothing crazy enough to pull them out of the production line!

To answer more questions about the standards of Filly production, i have bought batches of factory rejected Fillys. Of course all my conclusions can only be speculations.

Here is what i have gotten in my most recent batch from Whitehouse Leisure ltd. :

Batch of Rejects

Three bald ponies, six normal flocked ones, and two more normal looking Witchy ponies (not pictured) which came with completly ruined cards.

Interesting.

So, what is to be learned from this?

Firstly, most of them are unicorns, with the wrong gem colour. It seems to be Noelles red gem, which leads me to believe that all of these accidently got gems designated for a Filly Unicorn christmas calendar batch. How peculiar. The bad flock is also only on them, so it also could be that they were handled roughly because of being mess-ups -  or that they were just stored haphazardly.

Rejected Cory with bad flocking and red gem

Next we have Luna, normally flocked, just with a "love" family gem. She seems otherwise fine, but seeing as the gem/horns are designed to be the same color, she was pulled out. This one seems more like a singular accident.

Very interesting to me is this rejected Rose with a Heart. She seems mostly fine, better even than the one i own! However, her horn is bent and seems to be made of the same soft plastic as the Stars' horns - as well as her gem being slightly off.

Now let us look at the bald ponies of this batch! Articles for each one will be released in the future, you can read the one about Valentina here already!

So we have two weird yet similar butterflies, as well as a strange Gaia. Let's start with her!

Prototypes?

So the thing with these bald ponies is, that besides being obviously unsellable, these could also have been prototypes. Why flock a prototype? I suspect this Gaia could have been a prototype for the Gold Unicorn release, which was a rather unknown release of Unicorn Fillys with a golden horn in single Filly blisters. I have never seen these in Germany, but they do seem to exist. The orange gem exists in all of these bald ponies, so i suspect that might have just been something they had left in the factories, putting them in just to give a better image of the prototypes. Interestingly, my friend Eli also has gotten this exact Gaia before.

Bald Gaia

And last but not least, the bald Butterflies. I would assume the same goes for these, as you can see they are so mixed and matched it would be very jarring if such errors happened in the factory often haha. They dont even have antennas! In Elis article with Gaia, you can also see a bunch of bald colorless Butterflies. It is just very peculiar, but i am glad to have these weirdos!

Bald Horses...

Soooooo....

As these are all speculations, i cannot draw a proper conclusion, but i do think my thesis are close enough to reality. These remain mysterious and fun little guys to obtain occasionally, and i think its fair to just accept them as such :)
